To make a day of it

Château de la Roquette (Cheval-Blanc) stands in Cheval-Blanc (Vaucluse), in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Perched on the lower slopes of the Luberon above the Durance plain, the ruins of the château de la Roquette overlook the village of Cheval-Blanc. This former stronghold, first recorded in 1245 and thought to date back to the 12th century, still shows stretches of limestone ramparts and a partly standing watchtower. Visitors come here less for a restored monument than for a medieval ruin set within open countryside, away from the usual tourist routes.
