To make a day of it

Château de la Petite Roseraie stands in Châtenay-Malabry (Hauts-de-Seine), in the Île-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de la Petite Roseraie stands in Châtenay-Malabry, in the Hauts-de-Seine department, on an estate dating back to the 17th century. The site owes much of its fame to a persistent tradition holding that Voltaire, despite his birth certificate stating Paris, was actually born here, on his father's property. The present park, laid out in 1855 by landscape architect Louis-Sulpice Varé, along with parts of the buildings, reflects the successive changes made by a line of owners that included Marshal de Ségur and the Comte de Boigne. The estate today houses a public institution for physical education, making it a place defined more by its history than by tourism.
