Château présent depuis le 12e siècle. Au milieu du 16e siècle, transformation du château-fort en maison de plaisance. La création d'un parc et de jardins fait disparaître les élévations de la demeure médiévale. Au 19e siècle, morcellement de la propriété et modifications dans le plan et les élévations. Le château a conservé son implantation en surplomb ainsi que la majeure partie de son aménagement défensif étagé.
