What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château édifié vers 1776 par l'architecte Caristie. L'extrémité d'une aile est occupée par une chapelle de plan carré. Au 19e siècle, un des propriétaires, le marquis Théodore d'Espeuilles crée une importante poterie sur la propriété et fait intervenir l'architecte Duban qui réalise un ensemble complet dans les années 1839-1840 : escalier d'honneur, grand salon, salle à manger, bibliothèque (décor caractéristique de l'époque Napoléon III) , ainsi qu'une serre-jardin (aujourd'hui disparue). La poterie, fondée en 1847, a fonctionné jusqu'en 1920 et fabriquait des plats et vases rustiques à la manière de Bernard Palissy.
