Château de la Fautraise stands in Bierné-les-Villages (Mayenne), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
In Bierné-les-Villages, in the Mayenne department, the Château de la Fautraise stands today as a residence reshaped in the 19th century, its central pavilion marked by a pyramidal roof topped with a lantern. The current building owes little to its earlier form: it was first rebuilt around 1750 by a parish priest of Argenton who had become lord of the estate, then thoroughly restored after Émile de Beaumont purchased it in 1863. Its history brings together a succession of lords, a vanished chapel replaced by a Gothic-style one, and a disputed episode from the Vendée wars that some historians place here and others a few kilometres away.
