Château de Fourques stands in Fourques (Gard), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: Middle Ages). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
In Fourques, in the Gard department, a medieval castle stands on the site of an earlier Roman outpost, at the crossing of two ancient roads. Its square plan, flanked by four corner towers, dates largely from the 12th century, while a residential wing was added against the north wall in the 15th century. In the courtyard, a well with a basket-handle arch and its original rim still survives from that same period. Also known as the Château Boissy d'Anglas, after the family that has owned it since 1810, the building still bears traces of the damage inflicted during a 1792 riot.
