What the French Ministry of Culture records

Forteresse féodale édifiée vers 1320 dont il ne reste que le donjon haut de 30 mètres. L'édifice principal (propriété des Lutzelbourg) achevé en 1533 par l'architecte Michel de la Chausse, témoigne de l'influence de la Renaissance française (long balcon, lucarnes, fenêtres à pilastres). Les jardins à la française (avec ses fabriques et l'orangerie) ont été réalisés au 18e siècle par l'architecte paysager Louis-Ferdinand de Nesle dit Gervais (1703-1756) et le jardin romantique au milieu du 19e siècle par le comte de Choulot. En 1758, le roi de Pologne y séjourna.
