Standing on a terrace above the Saône river, the château de Fleurville groups around a rectangular courtyard a composite set of buildings: a much altered main residence, a corner turret and a square pavilion topped with dormers crowned by stone finials. Visitors pass through a rusticated gateway whose coat of arms has been chiselled away, one of the few traces of a history that remains largely unclear. Now a private hotel and restaurant, it is mostly seen from the outside.
