The château de Ferrières, also known as château d'Allas, overlooks the Dordogne valley from the village of Allas-les-Mines. Its buildings combine a thirteenth century medieval wing, altered at the end of the fifteenth century with mullioned windows and a turret, with an eighteenth century wing resting on a vaulted terrace. From that terrace, the view stretches as far as the châteaux of Beynac and des Milandes, once part of the same valley watch network.
