The Château de Corbeville stands on the wooded heights of Orsay, overlooking the valley from the Troche hillside at the edge of the Saclay plateau. Built in the early sixteenth century as a residential manor with no defensive purpose, its present form, four turrets beneath a broad roof, results from alterations carried out between 1590 and the late seventeenth century. Its history is tied to several notable families, from the Arnauld to the Sainte-Marthe, the latter name linking the estate to the Jansenist movement of Port-Royal.
