What the French Ministry of Culture records

Ce château a été construit de 1638 à 1646 par Pierre Le Muet pour Claude Bouthillier, surintendant des finances de Louis XIII. Le Muet a conservé la galerie Renaissance d'un château antérieur. Le château est aujourd'hui disparu (détruit en 1833) , à l'exception de quelques vestiges (chapelle et escalier dans le pavillon, portail d'entrée, plate-forme) , mais connu par de nombreuses gravures publiées dans l'ouvrage de Le Muet.
