The château de Chavagnac stands south of the village of Lemps, in the Ardèche region of the Vivarais. Building work began in the late eighteenth century, started by M. Botu de Verchère and continued by the Meyniac family, before the house was altered at the end of the nineteenth century to take on its present form. Since 2019 the current owners have carried out restoration work, alongside the creation of a French-style garden and an English-style park with an ornamental pond.
