To make a day of it

Château de Charonne stands in Paris (Paris), in the Île-de-France region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Charonne no longer exists: it was demolished in the early 19th century, and nothing of it remains visible today in Paris's 20th arrondissement. Built or remodelled in the late 16th century for a president of the Parlement de Paris, it stood near what is now the church of Saint-Germain de Charonne, its grounds stretching toward the present-day Père Lachaise cemetery. Its appearance is known only through notarial records and a drawing made around 1758, as no earlier depiction has survived. Louis XIV is said to have watched the Battle of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine from a pavilion on the estate.
