To make a day of it

Château de Cabrerolles stands in Cabrerolles (Hérault), in the Occitanie region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

On a rocky spur above the village of Cabrerolles in the Hérault, the remains of a medieval stronghold first recorded in 980 and expanded into its present form in the 12th century still stand. The site is notable for its fortified chapel, built directly on the cliff edge, whose bell tower is structurally one with the castle's north tower. Damaged during the Wars of Religion and finally dismantled on Richelieu's orders in 1630, the complex has been undergoing consolidation work since 1990, led by the local council and a heritage association.
