Located in Sorgues, in the Vaucluse, the Château de Brantes dates from the 18th century and is visited mainly for its park, redesigned from 1959 by Danish landscape architect Mogens Tvede. Pools fed by the waters of the Sorgue river, cypress trees and a magnolia planted around 1780 make up a garden with Florentine inspiration, awarded the remarkable garden label. The estate is also known for an early Provençal hot air balloon flight staged there in 1784 by the Marquis de Brantes, still recalled by some garden features.
