To make a day of it
Château de Belcastel et Buc stands in Belcastel-et-Buc (Aude), in the Occitanie region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
Perched at around 500 metres above the Buc river, Belcastel castle stands in ruins in the commune of Belcastel-et-Buc, in the Aude department. Only fragments of the square keep and the fortified enclosure remain, set in a wild landscape. Below, a chapel and a graveyard can be made out among the trees. First mentioned in 1082, the building's history remains poorly documented, and it seems to have played no part in the Albigensian Crusade despite nearby Cathar strongholds.
