What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château à volumes multiples, de style néo-Louis XIII, typique de l'architecture archéologiste du troisième tiers du 19e siècle. Un premier château est mentionné dès le 13e siècle. A la fin du 16e siècle, un second château est édifié. En 1868, le château actuel est réalisé à l'emplacement du précédent après sa démolition, par l'architecte Léon de Sanges. Les caractéristiques essentielles du style Louis XIII s'y retrouvent : murs de briques, chaînes d'angles, entourages de fenêtres harpés en pierre blanche, hauts toits pentus agrémentés de lucarnes et de hautes cheminées. Le parc a été ordonnancé au 18e siècle puis transformé lors de l'édification du château actuel.
