The château d'Oraison stands in the town centre of Oraison, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department. Built at the end of the Middle Ages or during the Renaissance by the d'Oraison family, it was substantially altered in the 18th century by the Fulque family after they acquired the marquisate in 1720. Its later history includes a period as a silkworm farm, which brought Louis Pasteur here in 1868 to study silkworm diseases.
