To make a day of it

Château d'Isenghien stands in Lomme (Nord), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In Lomme, near Lille, what remains of the Château d'Isenghien now forms the facade of a multiplex cinema, one of the largest in France by seating capacity. The building seen today is not the fortified residence of the 15th and 16th centuries but a country house built in the mid 19th century within the old moat, after several demolitions over time. Visitors come here less for an ancient monument than for a local curiosity carrying the name of a lordship once held by the Gand-Vilain family.
