Erbrée castle stands at Fromentières, in the Mayenne department, on the site of a former L-shaped manor surrounded by a moat, still visible on the 1833 land survey. The present building, in a restrained neoclassical style, was erected from 1830 onwards, while demolition work on the older manor continued until 1835. The estate retains its landscaped park, its outbuildings and its original internal layout, forming a coherent example of early to mid 19th-century architecture.
