To make a day of it

Château d'Eck stands in Saint-Selve (Gironde), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château d'Eck stands in the Gironde region, on vineyard land cultivated since the Middle Ages. Its U-shaped layout, flanked by corner towers and built around an inner courtyard, still reflects a defensive system dating back to the 11th century. Long known as château des Freytets before taking the name of the d'Eck family in the 19th century, the estate went through several periods of neglect and restoration. Today it is mostly known for its organically farmed vineyard under the Pessac-Léognan appellation.
