In Luçon, between the Place du Petit Champ de foire and Avenue du Président-Wilson, stands a water tower built just before the First World War, using reinforced concrete based on the Hennebique system, still uncommon in the region at the time. The building stands out for its ceramic decoration, including two terracotta lion heads on its main facade. Built to supply water to a cavalry barracks and the town as a whole, it stopped operating in 1961 and still retains its dome shaped, multi faceted reservoir, though its original cornice has been lost.
