Château d'Apremont stands in Apremont (Vendée), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Perched on a rocky spur above the Vie valley, the ruins of Apremont castle combine remains of a medieval stronghold with what is left of one of the earliest Renaissance residences in the Vendée region. Visitors can walk through the east tower, the chapel now used as an exhibition space, a stone ramp carved beneath the building, and a park overlooking the surrounding countryside. Traces of both defensive architecture and the new Italian-inspired style remain visible, from the arrow slits to the carved friezes.
