The present building, with its half-hipped roof, dates mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries, though its core is older still. Together with its three-winged farm courtyard, it forms a coherent ensemble, surrounded by remains of a water-filled moat and a former enclosing wall. Since the late 19th century it has belonged to a family who also ran a brewery there, now closed.
