Schloss Niederraunau stands in Krumbach, in the Landkreis Günzburg in Bavaria, next to the Catholic parish church of St Mary and All Saints, the two buildings together shaping the appearance of the village. The present building, erected in 1733 for the von Freyberg family, replaced an earlier moated castle known today only from old maps. Its three storeys under a hipped roof, marked by projecting bays on the east and west fronts, took their current form in 1844 after the demolition of the right wing and the passage that had linked the castle to the church.
