To make a day of it

Schloss Miltach stands in Miltach (Landkreis Cham), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Miltach stands in the village of Miltach, in the Bavarian Forest. Construction began around 1600 under Justinian von Peilnstein and reached its present form by the mid eighteenth century, when the façade was extended from nine to thirteen window bays. In private hands since the mid nineteenth century, it was owned in turn by a writer and later by an art collector whose holdings were auctioned off in 1979. The upper floor, once arranged as a museum with a hunting room and a chapel dedicated to Saint John Nepomuk, still reflects this layered history of private custodianship.

  • An adjoining former farm building, now a brewery, belongs to a different family and is not part of a visit to the Schloss.
  • The chapel inside the Schloss, dedicated to Saint John Nepomuk, was reconsecrated in 2009.
  • No opening hours, admission fees or accessibility details are currently published for visits.
