Schloss Hopfau stands on the banks of the Fichtelnaab, a short distance from Grötschenreuth in the municipality of Kemnath. Its most notable features are a polygonal stair tower on the south side and a lower wing added in 1665, the whole structure built of rendered rubble stone under a saddle roof.
