Schloss Groß Schacksdorf, in Brandenburg, stands on the site of a fortified structure from the 13th and 14th centuries that was once surrounded by moats. The present manor house, a two storey rendered building with a hipped roof, dates from the first half of the 18th century, and is accompanied by a former inspector's house built around 1840 in brick. The ensemble sits within grounds originally laid out as a baroque garden and later reshaped into an English style landscape park. Gradually restored since 1998 by its owners, the estate is now used for concerts, exhibitions, weddings and occasional film shoots.
