Schloss Grimberg stands in Gelsenkirchen (Gelsenkirchen), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
Schloss Grimberg once stood in the Bismarck district of Gelsenkirchen, on the border with Herne-Wanne, as a moated castle that grew out of an earlier stronghold built to secure the County of Mark's frontier. Rebuilt as a Renaissance residence in the sixteenth century and later restored after a fire under the direction of architect Johann Conrad Schlaun in the eighteenth century, the complex eventually fell into decline and suffered serious damage during the Second World War. Its buildings were completely torn down in the 1960s, so no structure remains standing on the site today.
