The Ruine Neidegg sits on a rocky ridge above the Blau valley, at 589 metres, overlooking the hamlet of Markbronn. Named after the lords of Neidegg, almost nothing remains of the stronghold beyond scattered wall fragments, the castle having been destroyed by the city of Ulm late in the Middle Ages. A chapel dedicated to Saint Nicholas was later built on the grounds but has since vanished as well. The site today is more of a forest viewpoint than a monument, valued for the outlook from the ridge.
