The Kleines Schloss stands in Park Babelsberg in Potsdam, on a slope running down to the Tiefer See. Originally a plain garden house, it was rebuilt in 1833-34 and again in 1841-42 to designs by Ludwig Persius, in an English Tudor style that sets it apart from the park's other residences. It first served as a residence for the eldest son of the princely couple, the future Emperor Friedrich III, before housing ladies-in-waiting and court guests. The building itself is currently undergoing renovation and cannot be entered, though the surrounding landscape park, laid out by Lenné and later by Prince von Pückler-Muskau, remains open.
