To make a day of it

Herrenhaus Parow stands in Kramerhof (Landkreis Vorpommern-Rügen), in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Gutshaus Parow stands at the edge of the village of Kramerhof, at the heart of an estate whose history is tied to the von Langen family. The present building, commissioned in 1860 by chamberlain Friedrich Franz von Langen, was designed in the style of an English country house, a choice linked to his marriage to an Englishwoman from Yorkshire, and displays turrets, dormer windows and scrolled gables. Its red brick facade still bears terracotta reliefs depicting family members, and a neo-Gothic chapel added in 1878 completes the ensemble. The estate also includes a landscape park, an early twentieth century orangery and former farm buildings.
