Gut Pronstorf stands in Pronstorf (Kreis Segeberg), in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Gut Pronstorf lies on the shore of the Wardersee, a few kilometres from Bad Segeberg, and remains in the hands of the von Rantzau family, who still run the estate's farmland and forestry today. The manor house, built between 1716 and 1728, ranks among the principal works of Baroque secular architecture in Holstein, with its long eleven bay facade and projecting gabled sections. As the house itself is privately owned and closed to visitors, it can only be viewed from outside, alongside the landscaped park and the estate's outbuildings, including the large Torhaus of 1914.
What to know
- The main house is privately owned and cannot be visited inside, only viewed from the outside.
- Concerts of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival take place on the grounds in summer, and a Christmas market in winter.
- The 1914 Torhaus, formerly a granary, has been converted into a hotel and event space.
- The estate lies on the shore of the Wardersee, with a landscape park and the adjoining village of Pronstorf.
- No opening hours or admission fees are given, as access is limited to the exterior grounds.
