The Großer Hof stands in Beetzendorf, in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel district, in Saxony-Anhalt. This former manorial estate, begun around 1580 in the outer bailey of the Burg Beetzendorf by the von der Schulenburg family, was enlarged in several stages, notably in 1686 and again in 1873. The house went through the upheavals of the twentieth century, from wartime military occupation to the 1945 land reform, before serving as a residence for agricultural trainees under East German rule. Part of the building today houses a restaurant with a medieval theme, set in the former festive hall now styled as a knights' hall.
