Gelbes Schloss stands in Weimar (Weimar), in Thuringia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Gelbes Schloss stands in Weimar just north of the Rotes Schloss, forming part of the palace complex commissioned by the dukes of Saxe-Weimar. Built in the early 18th century, it once housed Duchess Charlotte Dorothea Sophia and was one of the places where Johann Sebastian Bach carried out his musical duties at court between 1708 and 1717. Rebuilt after suffering heavy damage in 1945, the building was later joined with the Rotes Schloss to form a study centre for the Herzogin-Anna-Amalia-Bibliothek. Visitors can still spot the duchess's monogram worked into the iron tie-rod anchors on the facade facing the Grüner Markt.
