The Burg Miesbach no longer stands: its former site, in the centre of the town of Miesbach in Bavaria, is now occupied by the district administration building (Landratsamt). Probably built between the eleventh and twelfth centuries, it was destroyed in 1312 during a conflict between the lords of Waldeck and the bishopric of Freising. No visible remains survive today, only buried archaeological traces confirm where it once stood.
