Burg Lichteneck is a ruined hilltop castle standing at about 700 metres above sea level, overlooking the hamlet of the same name in the municipality of Rimbach. Built in the early 13th century, it still shows a round keep roughly twenty metres high, the most prominent remnant of a complex once divided into two outer baileys and a split inner ward. Excavations carried out in 1990 uncovered the foundations of the former castle chapel. The site today is an open-air ruin without significant tourist infrastructure.
