Brüggen Castle is a moated stronghold in the southeastern part of the municipality of Brüggen, in North Rhine-Westphalia. Built in the 13th century by the Counts of Kessel to guard a ford across the Schwalm river, it became the most significant fortress in the northern Duchy of Jülich once the dukes replaced the original buildings with a brick castle in the 14th century. What survives today includes a three-storey residential hall, a rebuilt round tower and a medieval gatehouse, alongside remnants of walls and towers. Part of the complex now houses a museum.
