To make a day of it

Adelmannschloss stands in Landshut (Landshut), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 16th century. No visits are on record for this building.

The Adelmannschloss stands in the Berg district of Landshut, on a site where an earlier manor already existed before the current building was erected in the late 17th century for Johann Baptist von Leyden. Its baroque silhouette, three storeys under a hipped roof with two small tower-like chimneys, is already recognisable in an early 18th-century engraving by Michael Wening. Ownership passed from the Leyden family to the Chlingensperg family and eventually to the counts of Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden, who gave the building its present name. After serving as an auxiliary hospital and later as a municipal art museum, the schloss underwent restoration completed in 2011, which restored its original room layout and parts of its baroque decoration.
