The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second half of the 16th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

Château-Vieux, also known as Château de la Reine-Laure, is a Renaissance residence begun in 1563 by Gaspard de Forbin and remodeled by his son Melchior between 1579 and 1587. Built according to Classical Renaissance principles, it stands out for its monumental entrance that contrasts with the restraint of the rest of the façade.
