To make a day of it

Château du Tertre stands in Ambrières-les-Vallées (Mayenne), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Standing beside the Varenne river in Ambrières-les-Vallées, this 19th century country house was designed by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, with construction carried out by his son-in-law Maurice Ouradou. Red brick, now covered in render, and granite make up a building laid out around the angle between the river and the access road. The place is chiefly remembered as the birthplace and childhood home of Jacques Foccart, whose family owned it until 1966.
