What the French Ministry of Culture records

Ancien château des Templiers bâti vers le milieu du 13e siècle, dont la construction s'est poursuivie au 17e siècle. En 1312, les possessions des Templiers sont reprises par les Hospitaliers. En 1377, le château est pillé par Raymond de Roquefeuil. Au 15e siècle, construction de fortifications. En 1648, travaux d'aménagement de vastes salles, d'un grand escalier et la mise en place d'une riche décoration. Pendant la Révolution, le château est dépecé et vendu par lots.
