To make a day of it

Château de Latour stands in Marnhagues-et-Latour (Aveyron), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 10th century, 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Set on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Sorgues river, the Château de Latour has belonged to the commune of Marnhagues-et-Latour since 1991. Its origins date back to the 10th century, and the current buildings, arranged in an L-shape around a keep, bear the marks of a long succession of noble families, from the La Tour lineage to the Bonald family. Visitors can see a watch path, polygonal turrets, twin-arched windows, and inside, a 16th-century painted ceiling along with a reconstructed nun's cell.
