The château de Vitry-la-Ville stands in the Marne department, surrounded by moats fed by the Guenelle, a stream diverted in the 17th century to create a water mirror around the building. Originally built in 1608, it was extended in the following century with two wings and a wrought iron gate, commissioned by a finance official of Champagne. Visitors can see the facades, roofs, entrance pavilions and gates that make up this ensemble, which remained in the same family for nearly three centuries.
