To make a day of it

Château de Templiers stands in Voulaines-les-Templiers (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

At Voulaines-les-Templiers, in the Côte-d'Or, stands the site of a former priory founded by the Knights Templar and later held by the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, the only priory of the grand priory of Champagne. The imposing medieval stronghold, fortified in the fourteenth century and rebuilt under Michel de Sèvre during the Renaissance, was almost entirely destroyed after the French Revolution. Only one tower remains, the one that once housed the prior's private chapel, while a bourgeois house built in 1825 now occupies the site under the name château de Voulaines.
