To make a day of it

Château de Romprey stands in Bure-les-Templiers (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Romprey stands in the hamlet of the same name, in the commune of Bure-les-Templiers in the Côte-d'Or. The present building, made up of four wings arranged around an enclosed courtyard, dates from the early 16th century and was built by Edme Régnier, lord of the estate. Across the road, a castle chapel raised around 1500 holds wall paintings uncovered during restoration work in 1933. The place recalls the earlier presence of the Knights Templar on these lands, documented as early as the 13th century.
