What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château édifié au 13e siècle. En 1595, l'édifice est saccagé par les troupes du Maréchal de Biron. En 1840, un incendie détruisit les dépendances du château. En 1947, les toitures sont endommagées par un autre incendie. Le château fort, dont il reste les quatre tours d'angle, avait à l'origine un plan carré qui a été réduit à deux ailes en équerre.
