What the French Ministry of Culture records
A partir d'un noyau existant au 18e siècle, un vaste domaine rural a été constitué au 19e. La partie centrale, isolée, regroupe un château, ses dépendances réparties autour d'une cour, un parc paysager avec bosquets, fontaines et bassins, grand tapis vert, roseraie et une vigne. Au début du 20e siècle, le château a été complété par une salle de théâtre et par des éléments provenant d'une église de La Bastide-des-Jourdans. Le portique du théâtre et un grand salon sont dotés de décors peints dus à Riou et Marchand. Dans les années 1930, l'architecte Jacques Couëlle a recomposé le parterre au sud de la terrasse du château.
