To make a day of it

Château de Pomayrols stands in Pomayrols (Aveyron), in the Occitanie region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Standing on a ridge above the Lot valley, in the heart of the village of Pomayrols, this medieval castle retains the remains of a quadrangular enclosure once flanked by corner towers. The present structure results from several building campaigns stretching from the 13th century to 1446, before being damaged during the Wars of Religion and partly demolished after the French Revolution. Visitors come mainly for the setting and the surviving traces of its defensive architecture, witnesses to a long seigneurial history.
