To make a day of it

Château de Poiseux stands in Poiseux (Nièvre), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

In Poiseux, in the Nièvre department, the old château preserves the memory of a stronghold first recorded in 1277 and rebuilt in the 16th century by the d'Avantois family. Of the original complex, arranged around a rectangular courtyard and once protected by a fortified outer bailey, only the south wing with its two square towers remains, the facade and north wing having collapsed in 1840. The site is now visited as an architectural remnant rather than a complete monument.
